… on the wind in Yellowstone by a river with high contrast. A one second interval is used to
capture the venting of these geysers in winter. With the colder temperature, more steam is visible,
moving very quickly, in similar ways to a towering cloud on a small scale. A river runs through the
lower portion of the frame.

A fog layer that seems to caress the tree line on a hilly ridge just beyond. The camera moves to
the right on a dolly over the foreground ledge. A fog bank is contained by the ridge line half a
mile away, which extends across the frame. The stratus layer flows over the ridge line slightly,
while the sky-blue ceiling in the top quarter of the frame is unbroken by any clouds.

In the distance, transforming on convective currents. Very strong convection is shown building
upwards and towards the point of view. Rain came shortly after the end of the clip. The pines and
other tropical trees make the horizon on the very bottom of the frame. The storm towers many
thousands of feet into the sky.

…some fair-weather clouds in the midday blue sky. The shadows of sand dunes slowly creep
longer on the sand. The ocean stretches away into the distance to the right. European
beach-grass was introduced in the early 20th century- but its spread poses changes to the
dune’s existence themselves. Its ability to live in sand is a double-edged sword for the local
ecology. A largely cloudy Cirrus sky in the top third of the frame moves inland towards the
right of the frame, but it has not yet fully shaded the foreground and beach beyond until late
in the clip.

A winter view of Yosemite valley: a very small stratus of fog on El Capitan’s ridge
plays slowly as the shadows rise at an also slow pace. The water of Bridalveil Falls
still pours near the right of the frame, mostly shadowed by the land at clip’s end.
Evergreen trees reside on every surface that is not too steep to grow on, and the
valley becomes Tenaya Canyon further out, snow becoming more fulsome.

A clip of Cumulus clouds (the lowest), Altocumulus clouds (the middle height level),
and Cirrus of various kinds, such as Cirrocumulus. An example of how clouds also can move in
different directions, the cerulean blue-sky has high air quality as the smaller clouds meander
around.

Looking out onto Lake Lucerne from Esel, near the peak of Mt Pilatus. Just above
orographically-influenced Cumulus clouds just below, with vapor beginning to pile onto the steep
surfaces and sheer face of the peak.

Near this grove of autumn trees, a many colored, a rocky and steep foothill looms to the
upper-right of the frame, on which shadows of the clouds move slowly over. Nearer in the
foreground, hints of steamy geysers pass quickly. The yellow trees seem to vibrate slightly in
the wind.
