    Scene notes:

cast shadows on the trees and meadow below. From within the park valley, Half Dome looms above the trees on the right-side of the frame. An imposing monolith rises on the opposing side, this forms a section of canyon with ninety-degree cliffs on both sides and a river in between them. Very light passing fluffy clouds meander in the cerulean blue sky. Not a long way behind the trees the valley turns in to Tenaya Canyon.

…builds in the early day’s blue sky. A rock feature of sharp relief on the far left of the frame borders the foothills of the mountains, where Pike’s Peak is fully cloaked in growing lower clouds. A hazy morning near noon, the near landscape is cultivated greenery and roadways with signs of people walking around. The far view shows green forests and hills spanning into a cloudy horizon in Colorado.

…National Park. A famous view over a canyon valley vista with waterfall in the afternoon 1 of 2. Above the side-road parking lot, overlooking Yosemite Valley on a perfectly fifty percent cloudy day there is a POV. High up on a trail away from the tour buses, a maintained path leads straight up the hill face, warm and dry ground on this day. these cumulus meander in the general direction of the wind, their shadows moving along the greenery and granite of these steep cliff faces and arched domes in the distance, Half Dome, still with the bits of snowy outcrops on its very top.

    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    20 seconds and 27 frames.

  • Afternoon on Yosemite Valley snowy river and clouds…

    Scene notes:

… orographically building on cliffs above. Snow falling in Yosemite Valley looking southwest, in an opening by the river. The snow covers the ground; trees loom on the left before the cliffs which have clouds piling up and past the sheer face of rock. The clouds also pour over the right-side monolith, the sun behind them, and in between the rapid vapors are patches of open sky. Farther out are more cliffs under the same majestic clouds. Slightly higher than the low clouds are other thinner clouds that roam in the opposing direction against the deep blue.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    8 seconds and 18 frames.

  • Ascending on unique rock formations of Alabama Hills in California

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

The UAS ascends steadily over a lifeless environment of unique stone formations, with high clouds motionless in the sky. The ground shows no signs of humans, but the sky has a jet contrail pattern. Two hills seen are composed only of very large boulders that cracked into pieces after cooling as magma. The area lives on an active fault zone, and certain hills show where these flows of magma end; in the last 10 million years, these hills have dropped 11000 ft (2750 m) and were once around the height of Mt Whitney. No interval was used with this full motion clip.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    11 seconds and 6 frames.

  • Winter in Yosemite over the woods and under heavy cloud

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

A three second interval is used for short timespan clips such as these. If not for the steep slopes of the valley cliffs, cloaked partly in dense winter fog, this scene could be reminiscent of many northern climates. The cerulean late afternoon sky is unobscured along much of the top third of the frame, but the clouds are moving everywhere.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    11 seconds and 3 frames.

  • Ascending flight above rocky, snowy hills and fir trees south of Lake Tahoe

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

As the UAS rises over the partly snowy, rocky forest mountain, Lake Tahoe comes into view, and a far-off mountainous rim around the cerulean blue lake, which clouds leave shifting shadows on from their layer.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    10 seconds and 22 frames.
