…sets with Cirrus clouds moving overhead. Cirrus clouds, a thin layer of water 40,000 or so feet in the
sky, pass quickly by with motion-blur due to the long exposure, which allows the illumination of the moon
to be magnified on the desert vista below. Since it is so far below, the Canyonlands view stretches a
vast distance, and the many stars of the night sky move as the Earth spins, and the moon with it, towards
the horizon and out of the clouds.
