    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Precipitation as rain is observable approaching Wizard Hat Island (right). The light shines on the ripples of water on the lake as the wind blows more randomly than the cloud shadows move. The huge fresh-water lake has a winter landscape on the opposing rim.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    5 seconds and 18 frames.

…with rocky hills on meadows, mixed clouds. A rock step, a distant cliff near a hilltop, is evident left in the background, above green meadows, and other multiple layers of clouds, the shadows move.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    5 seconds and 28 frames.

  • Stone hills in the late day with sunlight behind clouds undulating with shadows

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Mountains in the background under cloud cover, Mt Whitney appears smaller than the surrounding peaks in the frame, but only because its distance is greater than the peak at left. Complex cloud gatherings and movements in the air above the camera. Scene continues in Dawn and Dusk.

    6 seconds and 21 frames.

  • 1 of 3 | Late day high contrast with Lenticular cloud facing east

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Lenticular cloud formations, underneath higher Cirrus clouds, shift and meander in the late day sky, far above a desert valley, a quarter of the frame.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    7 seconds and 4 frames.

  • Light upper-level clouds float over Mt Whitney in a natural auditorium

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Cirrus clouds float undisturbed over aretḗ (French for this terrain feature which has no English counterpart) mountain peaks (center). The southern facing cliffs (right) are largely free of snow, while others still retain a great deal of it. Cornices shed fresh snow in high wind (middle peaks). The sky comprises a third of the frame, with the sun visible late clip.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    7 seconds and 16 frames.

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

…clouds float by overhead and on mountains. White-trunked, orange and yellow Aspens are the dominant color shown in this grove that lives on the foothills of snowy mountains of the Sierras, which are steeped in low, fluffy clouds which move steadily through but also linger on the cliffs. The lower left third of the frame has shrubs and sagebrush.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    6 seconds and 22 frames.

  • 10 of 10 | Sierra Nevada Mountain range and midday clouds

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

The camera pans to the right. A larger aperture depth-of-field is shown. On the mountainsides, delicate clouds condense momentarily and evaporate as quickly, small and insignificant in size. Other low-level and some mid-level stratus clouds are also present. Shrubs with yellow flowers comprise much of the fore and middle ground.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    8 seconds.
