    … is seen in deep dark colors of stars 1 of 2. Above a cloud which is caught on the mountain it shrouds this night, the stars whirl. The low cloud has motion blur due to the exposure length. The clouds roll leftward at high speed, only the slightest outline is illuminated by moonlight. The Milky Way is slightly visible. There are at least four airplanes that speed through the night.

    Scene notes:

    … vapor condensed on peaks of Grand Tetons in the morning. low-level clouds on the tops of the Grand Teton mountain range in Wyoming. The frame digitally pans to the right to show the peaks in the clouds, which are riding on an orographic effect this morning. The lower half displays the rolling hills and autumn Aspens as well as evergreen conifer trees. With moose, elk, wolves and buffalo roaming this wild area, people are fewer and farther between. A road paves through the lower-right with only a stray vehicle briefly observable.

    … just barely hiding the precipice. Stratus clouds on Öxnadalur. The spire seen moving in and out of the fog is an aiguille. Slivers of blue light in the sky overhead persist.

  • Mount Rainier with light clouds on its southern face

    Scene notes:

    A majestic mountain, Mt Rainier has a batch of Cumulus clouds on two flanks this sunny morning. Shadows from them moving over the snow. These are their normal altitudes. The dormant volcano rears up above the alpine, snowy meadow of the foreground. The clouds find the mountain insurmountable, and minuscule cars are seen in the middle of the frame, adding slightly to the interest. A three second interval is used.

  • Moving on rocky cliffside in and on the edge of a fog layer at late daytime

    Scene notes:

    The camera is intermittently in fog as it backs away from the edge on a dolly. Around the middle of the playback, the sunlight shines onto the stones and vegetation (left). There is a precipitous drop and a small breche in the foreground. The blue sky, cloudless above, comprises a third of the frame.
