A clip of Cumulus clouds (the lowest), Altocumulus clouds (the middle height level), and
Cirrus of various kinds, such as Cirrocumulus. An example of how clouds also can move in different
directions, the cerulean blue-sky has high air quality as the smaller clouds meander around.

In the late afternoon, just before sunset, the sun has moved below the mountains. On the peaks, some
clouds are created by the high winds and pour over the top of the frame. The foreground is a unique
desert landscape of stone and decomposed granite.

Approximately half the frame is shadowed in a mountain’s shade, with desert plants in the foreground
meadow. The clouds flow off the ridge, and every air current can be seen on the outer edges of these
clouds, which run aground on the top-left of the frame, billowing, and crawling.

‘Congestus’ clouds high above in the sky, towering as their namesake suggests, orderly in their
column of travel. They cover roughly two thirds to three quarters of the frame throughout. A five
second interval is used.

On rain, light rays are carved by the shade of the clouds which the sun is also illuminating vividly.
Anvil top glow gold momentarily as the frame pans up to the setting where clouds speed by at multiple
levels and pink plays on the highest, intricate details of the undersides of clouds- momentarily.

The mountains of the Sierra Nevada range do not entirely catch the low moving clouds on them, which
are blowing and slightly billowing and casting shadows on the snowy peaks and cliffs. Below, the
peak-coloring of the Aspen grove stretches closer from left to right. With leaves of varying colors
from red (afar) to orange (middle ground) and greens with yellow (close). The age of the trees may
provide hints as to the varying colors.

The sun is blocked by heavy low clouds, which hang over the lake, gloomy but dense and structured.
The sun moves low and very close to sunset- but not quite. The light of what gets through the cloud

… from viewpoint of clouds slowly shifting shadows on forest. Nimbostratus clouds impose shadows upon
the wilderness scene intermittently. The foreground, a viewpoint ridge which the camera pans over, is
intricately detailed with yellow flowers and stone. The protected landscape beyond is a mix of hilly
forest and rocky land features of rugged terrain further away, with Mt Tallac visible in the
far-distant left.
