  • Dimming ocean of marine layer clouds on a view…

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

…at dusk on Mt Tamalpais as sunset passes by. Stratocumulus clouds stretch for miles far below the serene meadow hills with creeping, windblown trees. The open sky is a ‘Hoki’ color, or a dusty-blue, and the horizon is a mix of Dusky Rose and Pale Oranges that make up the quarter of the frame. California sage brush, Chaparral, and Oaks are the main types of trees and shrubs shown.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    12 seconds and 29 frames.

  • Stable air around Mt Si in Washington has a low fog…

    Scene notes:

… level with low wind, transformation. Once an active volcano, this profile captures its dome shape that is prominent from this green meadow. These gentle slopes seem like the only way to traverse the top without technical gear. This morning sky has no clouds. A three second interval is used. The meadow is around one quarter of the frame, and a tree line has a variety of broadleaf and evergreens, while the mountain itself looks solid green from trees. A stable blanket of ground-fog moves left-right, slowly meandering, with a few fragments closer and higher in the frame.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    16 seconds and 1 frame.

  • Looking up among ferns and a broken tree; light rays

    Scene notes:

Scattered ferns in the frame, light rays above: there is a large and tall tree stump at left, and many fine light rays pass into the forest from fog ending just above. SKU/clip number: FRS056.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps): 17 seconds.

  • Steam is cooled and floats along the Yellowstone River

    Scene notes:

Yellowstone River in Yellowstone N.P., Wyoming, with steam from hot springs and thermals erupting in late morning. The river flows 676 miles total, with 600 or so to go from here, before meeting the Missouri River. SKU/clip number: DAY340
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    12 seconds.

  • 3 of 3 | Shifting, dark snowy rain clouds on vast lake

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Wind on water is visible throughout this frame. Strong gusts push the water chaotically on the surface of the vast, deep volcanic caldera. So much freshwater fills this vast crater that it is one of the deepest lakes in the world, the lake spans well outside the viewing angle of this POV. After days of solitude and nothing but clouds, light shafts eventually peak through the cloud and snowfall to brightly illuminate sections of water next to Wizard Hat Island.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    17 seconds and 5 frames.

  • 3 of 10 | Sierra Nevada Mountain range and midday clouds

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Time-lapse length (30 fps): A short-lived fog bank pushed by cold air flowing down the snowy mountains, while Nimbostratus is above.
    31 seconds and 28 frames.

  • In the midst of the clouds as the sun goes below horizon, longest

    Scene notes:

On a precipice with no land in sight as the fog flows below and around the POV. The sun sets below the horizon in the distance, and it is now dusk.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    2 minutes, 20 seconds.
