  • Moss on stones on left illuminated by bright fog filtering in through trees

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Thin branches stretch into the center-frame from outer edges, as the close Evergreens shape these sunbeams glowing on the fog just above. The blue-sky peaks through in small places. A mossy stone runs along the slope of the hillside close by with the light rays falling upon it. The sun moves, and with it the shade onto the stone and foreground.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    7 seconds and 12 frames.

    Scene notes:

Mossy stones and boulders illuminated on a hillside by thicker fog-glow. Only traces of blue from sky are observable in the upper-left, the bright ferns and moss becomes gradually shaded.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):

  • Fog is illuminated between the pines, creating colorful sunset rays before POV

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

The sun radiates vibrant sunbeams, filtered through the evergreen tree on the left of the frame. The fog moves rapidly left to right, and as its edges pass through the middle ground, the tree creates shadows where it physically blocks the light. The sunbeams are most pronounced midway through the clip. The colors of the glow change from bright gold to Papaya orange.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    21 seconds and 13 frames.

  • Panning on a winter hilltop with glowing fog creeping in at sunset with light rays

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

As the point-of-view pans to the right over melting ice on a foreground rock, the fog, just beyond the close tree line below, begins to inundate. Sunbeams are observed during moments of time when the fog’s upper visible limit is the same altitude as the trees. On a grassy slope that comprises the middle ground, the fog eventually becomes an obscuring factor in the sunset light.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    17 seconds and 29 frames.

  • Fog trying to infiltrate into cypress trees in foreground to illuminate rays

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

The silhouettes of the foreground evergreen trees make two thirds of the frame. As the sun is closer to the horizon, pinks dominate the fog’s color, which is rapidly evaporating into dusk. Any light rays from the clip this is the continuation of are gone, owing to the position of the fog now being behind the trees.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    9 seconds and 27 frames.

  • Brightly glowing and thin fog creates strong light rays on distant trees

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Preview synopsis: Humidity on the wooded hills, sunlight and radiant intensity. The thin fog glows, and individual trees carve the sharp and intricately fading light rays, which are also the farthest on trees in this collection. The wind blows the fog. As the sun falls off-frame, the colors redden, and the forest is highlighted in the glow.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    9 seconds and 14 frames.
