  • 1 of 2 | Panning past icicles and moss in the forest where shadows move

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Similar to another clip in this scene, the camera is reset in another position. The overhang of moss and a hillside can be an ideal place for icicle formation, as this scene makes apparent. Very low or no wind makes the shade from tree limbs and twigs soft and stably moving across the ground in a predictable direction as the camera slowly pans to the right. Snow still exists in spots on the forest floor, adjacent to these large icicles, droplets visibly forming on their tips of them.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    25 seconds and 2 frames.

    Scene notes:

These Yellowflag Iris flowers are an exemplar of their kind. Panning past this stone covered in lichen and moss, the flowers quiver in the spring breeze on this hilltop. The ground has the shade of a conifer tree trunk moving over the grass and stones.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    25 seconds and 2 frames.

  • The sun sets on a forest hillside

    Scene notes:

A single Bigleaf maple tree, slanted from being windblown so often (such is nature), on a hillside in the woods. The beyond area visible in the background as openness. The sunset is reddening the scene, and the breeze is playing on the leaves harmlessly until the dark. Not included in the Dawn and Dusk since no visible sky is shown.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    17 seconds and 8 frames.

  • Panning over forest hillside with white flowers and shade moves over them

    Scene notes:

Panning over Windflowers in the spring, with light breezes that move the shadows.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    9 seconds and 23 frames.

  • Small flowers on a fallen tree in the shade delicately move in wind

    Scene notes:

The camera is on a dolly while moving from these Oregon Geraniums growing on a mossy fallen log. Shadows shift somewhat randomly on the wind.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    9 seconds and 3 frames.

  • Moss on stones, illumination in the evening transforms with time

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

A no-sky sunset, this forest scene features a foreground dominated mostly by shadows shifting on mossy rocks and a fallen tree. The interval used is ten seconds. In the remaining one-third of the frame, trees of the forest are in the background, trunks slightly irregular from being windblown on this woodsy hillside.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    9 seconds and 2 frames.

  • Moving over mossy rock with small pink flowers and shifting shade

    Scene notes:

Oregon Geraniums on a mossy boulder in the forest are captured in time. Wind blows the shadows slightly, and the sun is dimmed intermittently by clouds.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    8 seconds and 21 frames.

  • Moss on stones on left illuminated by bright fog filtering in through trees

    Scene notes:

Thin branches stretch into the center-frame from outer edges, as the close Evergreens shape these sunbeams glowing on the fog just above. The blue-sky peaks through in small places. A mossy stone runs along the slope of the hillside close by with the light rays falling upon it. The sun moves, and with it the shade onto the stone and foreground.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    7 seconds and 12 frames.
