Changing from day to night on the east flank of Mt Shasta, the clouds rapidly change and darken to the night. The stars seem to spin around as the Earth rotates and the sky brightens to morning, light once again on the snow.

    7 seconds and 14 frames.

  • Ascending Mount Shasta, California, late in the day above the fog facing north

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

The UAS ascends, and a nearby fog layer passes by. Mt Shasta is seen in the morning light stretching out, it’s two peaks fully draped in a fresh winter snow. The morning sky is a bright blue color against the peaks. There are a few distant high clouds. The unique perspective of the mountain is simply not available from the ground.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    11 seconds and 14 frames.

  • Mount Shasta from the south, partly within lower cloud, at winter mid-day

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

An orographically-formed cloud contained on the upper slopes of Mt Shasta, outer parts evaporating to reveal it blanketing smoothly the peaks and peaet of the northern California mountain. The ancient volcano is dormant and comprises two thirds of the frame: the blue-sky above.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    9 seconds and 17 frames.
