    … and their small lights ascending before dawn. Multi-categorized clip. The moon sets behind Mt Rainier. Looking closely afterward, a distant, single climbing party’s headlights are shown ascending the rugged and impressive slope overnight. Morning comes, a blue hour, and far, far behind some conifers, the snow of the mountain becomes pink momentarily against the rapidly changing sky, until the sky is light blue, and it is day again.

    …out and high clouds moving rapidly, moonlit The full moon rises behind high clouds. The view from this light is dynamic, made more so by smoke from nearby fires. The smoke is seen as a nebulous cloud, only thinly veiling this view. Stars are seen above the clouds. How is this a moonrise? The long exposure of the individual frames allows for more light to be captured in the image, enough to be of comparable levels to a sunrise at certain times. The view of the canyon is deep, the point of view is from Duck on a Rock viewpoint facing northeast.

    The vast Crater Lake is under heavy rolling low clouds that part for the moonlight to briefly shine on the water and allow the few stars visible to shine through.

    Thunderstorm – content warning for epilepsy. A dangerous, approaching nighttime thunderstorm with lightning illuminating the thundercloud from within. The storm has mostly cloud-to-cloud lightning. A gust front is visible as the high winds make the environment hazardous. The strobing lights below are made by the passing highway traffic (out of frame).

The thunderstorm of the night in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida has no wind behind it to come onshore or make any other direction- this night storm has both cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning, with strikes shown, the flashes outlining and silhouetting parts of the storm, including the anvil shape of the nimbus cloud.

    Now clip NGT087. The desert night sky around the rim Canyonlands. The moon sets late in the clip, taking with it the illumination of the landscape, now trees silhouette on the hills, which comprise a fifth of the frame. and the night sky is just as starry this cloudless night.
