    Scene notes:

    The landscape is two-thirds of the frame, a forest of hills and ridges which extend into a vast plain. The humid air allows the radiant intensity to glow on these lands, the vapor both absorbs and emits some of the light in all directions. The sun moves lower into the dusk behind the horizon, leaving Cirrus clouds illuminated red and pink from below, and then, night falls.

    The vast Crater Lake is under heavy rolling low clouds that part for the moonlight to briefly shine on the water and allow the few stars visible to shine through.

Expanding out from the top left, the sun’s rays pour out, filtered perfectly at times by the shifting fog.

    Scene notes:

    A single ridge of fog bisects this stratus layer of fog beyond with no foreground. Cloud-fog the color of Butterscotch on their tops where the hits them, and pouring steadily towards the left, as if it’s a river about to turn into a drop and become a waterfall.

    Scene notes:

    Just around sunset when the light is most orange, the lone atlas cedar is midway to the fog, which seems to be rising just behind these trees. There is a wide vista of bright fog stretching miles out, and the hill that spans the valley below creates a shadow on the fog further away, miles out. It’s quite windy, apparent from the speed of the water vapor just beyond.
