    Scene notes:

…peak and hillside in late afternoon. A one second interval was used in this scene to catch the fast-moving lower clouds. On the acutely angled nearby hillsides of the Napali coastline on Kauai, a western volcanic island in the Hawaiian Islands. Vegetation of nearby trees is visible in the outer edges on the wind. Due to the very extremely recentness of the island’s volcanic formation, these steep cliffs are less uncommon on the headlands of the west coast of Kauai.

… just barely hiding the precipice. Stratus clouds on Öxnadalur. The spire seen moving in and out of the fog is an aiguille. Slivers of blue light in the sky overhead persist.

    Scene notes:

… the slopes and loiter on almost no wind. One may assume on first viewing a few seconds of watching the stratus is inevitably going to override the sky, but that does not happen; instead, the clouds are caught and created on the mountain peaks. Four snowy peaks, with one dominating the left quarter, in deep snow, are intermittently covered. The other three have sheer faces too steep for any snow to cling to. The light turns pinker as time moves on.

    Scene notes:

…rocky, snowy winter peaks. Symmetrical slopes dominate the frame, with rocks and small boulders among evergreens that lead up to near the very tips of these mountain tops. With light, low rolling clouds pouring over and piling on these steep slopes, jagged, snowy peaks poke out like jigsaw teeth.
