    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

In the woods late afternoon. A large bundle of mature Yellowflag Iris in the breeze under the shifting tree shadows. A few small white flowers are also seen on the forest floor. Blue sky can be seen in between the forest trees. The evergreen trees are blown in a gentle wind, which is reflected in the movements of the shadows and plants of the foreground. Late in the clip, shadows have moved onto the blossoms.

cast shadows on the trees and meadow below. From within the park valley, Half Dome looms above the trees on the right-side of the frame. An imposing monolith rises on the opposing side, this forms a section of canyon with ninety-degree cliffs on both sides and a river in between them. Very light passing fluffy clouds meander in the cerulean blue sky. Not a long way behind the trees the valley turns in to Tenaya Canyon.

On the acutely angled nearby hillsides of the Napali coastline on Kauai, a western volcanic island in the Hawaiian Islands. Vegetation of nearby trees is visible in the outer edges on the wind. Due to the very extremely recentness of the island’s volcanic formation, these steep cliffs are less uncommon on the headlands of the west coast of Kauai.

  • Vancouver, cityscape Canada under clouds

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Slowly panning on distant mountain background with Mt Seymour mountain. North of Vancouver, the view is under building lower-level clouds. In the lower valley behind some trees, downtown Vancouver can be seen, as can a rotating construction crane, far in the distance at lower-right. A three second interval, the sky is about one tenth blue at times. Significant uplift from wind on Mt Seymour drives these clouds. This is called the orographic effect.

    Scene notes:

…as the shadows rise late in the day on mountain cliffs. This UAS clip with a three second interval flies onto quickly rising shadows from the steep cliffs. Much of the forest is burned, flying under below, the trees recently browned and scorched from the heat where the forest once was alive. Centered is a medium-sized waterfall and creek, which the camera flies to. A blue-sky has a few receding mid-level clouds. The wilderness area has sheer cliffs of several hundred feet. The terrain is mostly without soil and only stone with some winter snow still on the upper ridge in one area.

    Scene notes:

In a sky that is perfectly clear of clouds, a small mountain valley with a single ridgeline sloping downwards gently further in the distance, which is lit by the sun slightly longer than the foreground. The sky quickly turns dark into a night sky, with lights from cars on a road passing, and planes flying. Over the course of the clip, several hours pass. Facing east at sunset and blue hour is less typical if this collection.
