  • The sun sets on a forest hillside

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

A single Bigleaf maple tree, slanted from being windblown so often (such is nature), on a hillside in the woods. The beyond area visible in the background as openness. The sunset is reddening the scene, and the breeze is playing on the leaves harmlessly until the dark. Not included in the Dawn and Dusk since no visible sky is shown.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    17 seconds and 8 frames.

    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    18 seconds and 20 frames.

  • 3 of 4 | Super-fast fog bank rolling on alpine meadow near sunset

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

A continuation of another clip. The top fifty percent is a rolling fog layer of stratus. The base of the cloud is above ground, but the word ‘fog’ is used in this clip’s context; this is a ‘Stratocumulus’ cloud. It blankets a large area and is being blown on a strong ocean wind. Around 500 ft away in the middle-background, the transition between land and sky is not so clear. The tree line is shown being inundated intermittently. On a setting sun, the cloud glows colors of gold, with enough illumination for the grassy foreground.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    19 seconds and 20 frames.

Mt June at sunset, which is the continuation of another clip.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    9 seconds and 19 frames.

  • 3 of 3 | Very fast eye-level fog on hills and valley dusk

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

The last in the series of clips shows the sun setting below the horizon, shining and making fringes of the nearby fog pink, which is rapidly blowing in the wind, caught on the nearby hillside, until the last few moments.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    5 seconds and 15 frames.
