  • Among Douglas fir trees, foggy light rays shine through

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

These Yellowflag Iris flowers are an exemplar of their kind. Panning past this stone covered in lichen and moss, the flowers quiver in the spring breeze on this hilltop. The ground has the shade of a conifer tree trunk moving over the grass and stones.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    25 seconds and 2 frames.

  • Vividly illuminated by the sun which is backlighting a tree in the woods looking up

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

This clip differs from other forest clips in the following ways: there is no ground horizon, and the frame digitally zooms slightly. Blue sky behind the evergreen trees of the morning woods is visible. The fog diminishes by clip’s end.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    18 seconds and 29 frames.

  • Behind a tall plant, light rays shine and pulse in the forest

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Broad-leafed plant in the intentional foreground stands tall (right) among very long and finely details light rays (aka God rays) created by shadows from branches and tree trunks. The green forest floor (bottom-left) is brightly illuminated. The light shifts with the movement of the sun. The fog has variable density with time.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    17 seconds and 17 frames.

  • Mushrooms on snow, which is melting

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Several small mushrooms growing are around melting snow. A close-up with no sky in the frame. The mushrooms are on moss, located on the left side of the frame.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    17 seconds and 21 frames.

  • Small yellow forest spring flowers in the grass under shifting shadows

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

The camera physically pans to the right. Bulbous buttercup flowers among the grass. The sun, moving towards evening, makes the shadows of the trees shift longer over the forest floor.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    17 seconds and 6 frames.

  • The sun sets on a forest hillside

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

A single Bigleaf maple tree, slanted from being windblown so often (such is nature), on a hillside in the woods. The beyond area visible in the background as openness. The sunset is reddening the scene, and the breeze is playing on the leaves harmlessly until the dark. Not included in the Dawn and Dusk since no visible sky is shown.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    17 seconds and 8 frames.

  • White flowers follow the sun until they're in the afternoon shade

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Close-up (macro) shot of flowers that resemble white anemones tracking the position of the sunlight through the forest canopy. Shadows move with the wind- that also pushes the delicate plants.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    16 seconds.

  • Over muti-colored, small flowers, the shade shifts

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Digitally zooming on anemones on a forest garden floor, shadows moving over in time, and leaves blown on gusts.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    7 seconds and 8 frames.
